Through the stages of life
Sometimes crawling – knocked to our knees
Sometimes running – aiming hastily to please
Oftentimes walking – cool as a gentle breeze
Through the stages of life
Sometimes crawling – around obstacles lined along our path
Sometimes running – into struggles, trials and too many tests
Oftentimes walking – knowing God gives us rest
Through the stages of life
Sometimes crawling – when the birth pain of our destiny is intense
Sometimes running – when confusion and chaos take up residence
Oftentimes walking – knowing God guides us in excellence
Through the stages of life
Stand rooted like the tree – deep – nurtured and fortified
Soar like the eagle – high – making great strides
Flow like the river – nimble – always enjoying the ride
Through the stages of life
Faith crushes out fear
Hope floods the heart
Love perseveres year after year
Whispering in my ear – I hear
A still, small voice
Take my hand, I am always near,
I hear – through the stages of my life
